Schools Reopened in New York

New York: Elementary schools have opened in New York City, despite the ever-increasing cases of Coronavirus infection in the US, while some cities have closed schools or reopened in recent weeks. The plans have been deferred. New York has about one million students and schools were closed here just two weeks ago due to rising cases of coronavirus, but parental pressure forced the primary school to be reopened.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has also said that it is safe to open a school if the investigation is extended. Blasio said the new testing protocol made it safe to reopen classes. He said that there have been very few cases of infection spread in classrooms. Second Ore, schools in Detroit, Boston, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, and suburban Minneapolis have been closed in recent weeks or plans to call students to school have been postponed due to rising cases of the coronavirus. In the US, an average of two lakh cases of infections is being reported every day, the highest number ever.

In the country, one crore of 48 lakh people are infected with the Corona virus and two lakh 80 thousand people have died due to this infection. Americans did not heed the advice to stay indoors and refrain from meeting other people during ‘Thanksgiving’, which is expected to increase cases of infection in the coming week. However, health officials have said that the virus does not appear to spread rapidly in classrooms. The reason for this is probably that children are less likely to spread or become infected. Instead, there have been many cases of teachers getting infected due to activities outside the school. Many teachers and other workers in schools are ill or isolated. In such a situation, the schools have to face the problem of lack of personnel. On the other hand, the parents complain that the children are not able to study that well through the computer.
