And cyber thugs take advantage of them. The work of stealing our data is also done through fake apps or links.
The latest case is of stealing data from an antivirus app. It is being told that anti-virus apps have stolen the bank details of about 15,000 users. It has been learned that thousands of users downloaded anti-malware apps from the Google Play Store, which instead of protecting their devices, released many viruses and stole all the personal information of users.
However, soon after this incident was detected, Google took action and removed 6 anti-virus apps from the Play Store. But by then a lot of damage had been done.
How information was stolen
According to cyber security researchers Check Point Software, these anti-virus apps in collaboration with Sharkbot Android Malware have acquired the personal information and bank details of more than 15,000 users. This malware uses several advanced technology domain generation algorithms – DGA. It is said that DGA is rarely used in the world of malware.
Sharkbot malware asks its users to submit personal information in a special window. And some users even do this. And when users do a transaction, all their personal information gets leaked.

It is a matter of relief that this malware has not targeted the users in India. It has not targeted users from India, China, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Most of the affected users are from Italy and Britain.
