Ranchi: In response to the persistent issue of cheating during examinations, the Jharkhand government has implemented a significant measure to ensure the integrity of the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE). This decision comes as a proactive step to address the growing concerns about the fairness of the examination process.

Internet Services Suspended Statewide

To prevent any form of malpractice during the JGGLCCE, the Jharkhand government has decided to suspend mobile internet services across the state. This suspension will be in effect for two days, covering the duration of the exams on September 21st and 22nd, from 8 AM to 1:30 PM. The aim is to eliminate any potential disturbances that could compromise the examination’s integrity.

Massive Turnout Expected

This year, approximately 6,40,000 candidates are set to appear for the JGGLCCE, which will be conducted at 823 different exam centers throughout Jharkhand. The government’s decision to suspend internet services is intended to ensure a fair and transparent examination process, allowing deserving candidates to succeed without the risk of cheating.

Crackdown on Digital Cheating

In previous examinations, there have been numerous instances where students resorted to unfair practices using mobile applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp, X (Twitter), Telegram, and YouTube. These platforms, accessible via internet and Wi-Fi connectivity, have been exploited to gain an unfair advantage. By shutting down internet services, the Jharkhand government aims to close these loopholes and uphold the sanctity of the examination process.
