New Delhi: The third and last match of the 3 ODI series between West Indies and UAE was played in Sharjah. West Indies won this match by 4 wickets. Along with this, the Caribbean team made a clean sweep of UAE in the three ODI series. Indies opener Johnson Charles could not do anything special in this match. But Alick Athanaze, who came to open with him, created history. He scored the fastest fifty in his very first international match. Seeing his batting, it seemed that Brian Lara was re-entered the West Indies team.
Alick Athanaze was born in West Indies in 1998. He made his debut in the Under-19 team in 2018. He became the second such batsman in this tournament, who scored 2 centuries in a tournament for the West Indies. Athanaze became the highest run-scorer batsman in that Under-19 World Cup, hitting a total of 418 runs. He was also awarded the ‘Rising Star of the Squad’ award by the ICC.

Alick Athanaze played an inning of 65 runs in 45 balls in this match. He completed his fifty in only 26 balls in the debut match. By doing this, he equaled Krunal Pandya, who scored the fastest half-century in the debut ODI for India. Krunal also hit Fifty in 26 balls in the first ODI.
