New Delhi: The BYD Seal has made a remarkable entry into the Indian electric vehicle market, garnering an enthusiastic response from customers. Within a mere 15 days following its launch on March 5, 2024, the Seal has secured an impressive 500 bookings.

Model Variants and Features
BYD offers the Seal in three distinct variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Performance. Each variant is equipped with two battery pack options, boasting a maximum range of up to 650 kilometers on a single charge. The Seal’s pricing is competitive, with the ex-showroom cost ranging from Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53 lakh. Customers have the liberty to personalize their Seal with a choice of four elegant exterior paint schemes: Arctic Blue, Aurora White, Atlantis Gray, and Cosmos Black.

In light of this success, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, expressed his confidence in the product and its market pricing. He remarked, “The swift attainment of 200 bookings post-launch and the subsequent milestone of 500 bookings within 15 days are testaments to the Indian consumers’ appetite for competitively priced, stylish, and sustainable motoring solutions. The BYD Seal joins our premium electric MPV, the new e6, and our electric-born E-SUV, the BYD Atto 3, in enhancing our portfolio in India with a sports sedan that exudes style and luxury.”

Market Competition
The BYD Seal positions itself as a premium electric sedan, rivaling the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in terms of pricing and features. It stands out with its signature rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker audio system, and sports seats. Additionally, the Seal offers practical storage solutions with front storage space and a 400-liter boot capacity at the rear. BYD India’s current lineup also includes the Atto 3 SUV and e6 MPV, further solidifying its presence in the electric vehicle segment.
