Manila: Strong earthquake tremors were felt in the Surigao del Sur province of the Philippines. The magnitude of this earthquake, which occurred on Sunday, was recorded at 5.8 on the Richter scale, in which no casualties were reported. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has given this information.
According to Phivolux, the quake occurred at 6:24 pm (local time – 10:24 GMT), measured 1 kilometer deep, and was about 75 kilometers northeast of Bayabas town.
Tremors were also felt in the provinces of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Norte, the institute said. However, so far no damage has been reported due to the earthquake.
