Srinagar: The operation is underway on the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan in Machil sector located in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to army sources, a captain and two jawans have been martyred in the ongoing encounter in Machil with the terrorists trying to infiltrate. Security forces have killed three militants so far. In fact, some terrorists were trying to infiltrate from across the border here. However, the security forces stopped them.
A statement issued by the BSF said that between November 7 and 8, at around one o’clock in the night, the 169th Battalion, while on patrol, saw some movement of intruders near the LoC in Machil sector. When they tried to stop the intruders, they started firing. BSF jawans retaliated and so far killed three terrorists. The statement said that one terrorist piled up on the spot with BSF bullets, while the rest of the terrorists managed to hide in the hills.
In such a situation, firing from the Pakistani outposts started at the same time to help the terrorists. In this firing, BSF jawan Sudip Kumar was shot. Referring to Sudip’s bravery, the BSF said that despite being injured, Sudip continued fighting without caring for his life and at the same time he was martyred. Meanwhile, army personnel also reached there for help and started searching the surrounding areas. An AK-47 rifle, two bags have been recovered from the terrorists.
