ISLAMABAD: Frustrated over the non-receipt of occupied land in Pakistan even after more than three decades, a Pakistani woman urged the High Court to send her to India on Tuesday. According to the report of Pakistan’s Sama television channel, a woman named Syeda Shahnaz, a resident of Sheikhupura district of Punjab province, is wandering from door to door to get back her five marla of land. Some influential people had occupied the land of Sayeda about 35 years ago.

Completely disappointed with Pakistan’s judicial system, Syeda Shahnaz (45) sought the Lahore High Court (LHC) to order the authorities to issue Indian visas to her. Sayeda says she doesn’t think she will ever get her land back. LHC Chief Justice Amir Bhatti was hearing the matter when the petitioner made this peculiar request. Describing the incident, Syeda Shahnaz said that this matter is going on for the last 35 years. She was only nine years old when the trial began.

Syeda also told the court that due to the non-receipt of land, he was forced to live in a rented house in Sheikhpura. According to the report on the Sama television channel, “He has no hope that he will ever get his land back, so the petitioner requested the court to order the government to send him to India.” On this request of the petitioner, the judge said that it was not within his jurisdiction.
