Subsidy on LPG cylinders

New Delhi: Domestic Gas Subsidy is not going to be received on domestic gas in this month i.e. August. But have you noticed that for the last 3 months, Gas Subsidy money is not coming in your account. The government has abolished the gas subsidy you get from May. But why the decision has been taken to end this subsidy. Its biggest reason is that after the steep fall in LPG prices in the international market in April, the market price of domestic cylinders was reduced by Rs 162.50 to Rs 581.50 in May, bringing the price of subsidized and non-subsidized cylinders to one. There has also been no change in the prices of domestic LPG in August.

Why LPG LPG cylinder subsidy money is not coming to account
According to the news published in the English newspaper Economic Times, the central government had decided to end the gas subsidy only when the prices of domestic LPG cylinders were changed in May, due to which customers would be charged even after taking gas in May, June, and July. Subsidy money has not been transferred.

The market price of gas cylinders or the price of cylinders without subsidies has come down significantly. Meanwhile, the prices of subsidized gas cylinders have increased. In this case, the price difference between the two cylinders is almost over. This is the reason why the government has now stopped subsidizing domestic gas cylinders.

What happened after the end of the subsidy
The subsidy on LPG cylinders has been continuously cut for the past one year. That is why the subsidized cylinder has become expensive by Rs 100. With this, the subsidy received on it has been reduced to zero. The market price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder was Rs 637 in July last year in the country’s capital Delhi, which has now come down to Rs 594. If you want more cylinders than this, then you have to buy at the market price.
