Mumbai: Shahrukh Khan, the king of Bollywood, is making waves with his upcoming film Dunki, a comedy-drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film, which also stars Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, is expected to break box office records after Shahrukh’s previous hits Jawan and Pathan. The film is slated to release on December 22, 2023, on the occasion of Christmas.
The makers of Dunki have already given a sneak peek of the film on Shahrukh’s birthday, November 2, when they released a teaser that showed Shahrukh as a Dunki who falls in love with Taapsee, a human girl. The teaser received a positive response from the fans and the critics, who praised the quirky concept and the chemistry between the lead pair.
Now, the first song of the film, Loot Putt Gaya, has been released on November 22, 2023. The song is a romantic track that showcases the love story of Shahrukh and Taapsee’s characters. The song has been composed by A.R. Rahman and sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. The lyrics have been penned by Irshad Kamil.
Shahrukh Khan took to his social media X (Twitter) to share the poster of the song and some lines from it. He wrote, “I will pitch a tent in your heart, I will dive into your love, I have gone, I have been robbed. Only 30 days are left for this journey of love, Dunki.” He also tagged Rajkumar Hirani, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, A.R. Rahman, Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal and Irshad Kamil in his tweet.
Taapsee Pannu also shared the poster of the song and wrote, “Get ready to fall in love with the most adorable donkey ever. Loot Putt Gaya is out now. Watch it and let us know how you like it. Dunki, coming soon to a theatre near you.”
Dunky is facing tough competition from Prabhas and Shruti Haasan starrer film Salaar, which is also releasing on December 22, 2023. Salaar is an action thriller directed by Prashanth Neel, who is known for his KGF series. The film is expected to be a pan-India hit, as Prabhas has a huge fan following across the country.
It will be interesting to see which film will emerge as the winner at the box office.
