Islamabad: Indian Sikhs have been invited by Pakistan on the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism. This information was given by an official on Monday. Guru Nanak Guruparva, a three-day festival will begin from November 27 at Nankana Sahib.
Millions of devotees gather from different places in India and the world every year on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Guru Nanak’s birthplace ‘Gurdwara Janmasthan Nankana Sahib’ in Punjab (Punjab) province of Pakistan. However, the festival may be affected this year by the Covid-19 epidemic. The Express Tribune reported that Indian pilgrims would be offered a five-day visa to enter the country.
They will be given admission only on compulsory negative reports of Covid-19. The abandoned Waqf Property Board and Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) have also sent invitations to various Sikh societies to participate in the celebrations. In view of Corona virus epidemic, Sikhs of India will be allowed to stay in the country for a limited time only.
The special five-day Nankana Sahib visa expires on December 2. An official of the country’s Waqf Board said, “All the pilgrims coming to participate on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev will have to follow the standard operating procedure of Covid-19 during the entire duration of stay and compulsory of Covid-19 They will have to follow them even after showing the negative investigation report. ”
According to PSGPC chief Sardar Satwant Singh, his stay schedule in Pakistan was revised in view of closed borders and rising cases of corona virus in India. “No new restrictions will be imposed on the number of Indian Sikh devotees,” he said. According to the Pakistan-India bilateral agreement, three thousand Indian Sikh devotees will be allowed to enter the country for Guruparva.
