Kathmandu: An ATR-72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines has crashed near Pokhara. Yeti Airlines ATR-72 aircraft flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed at Pokhara in Kaski district at 11 am on Sunday. PM ‘Prachanda’ called an emergency meeting of the cabinet
Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has called an emergency cabinet meeting to express his grief after the Yeti Airlines plane crash. Expressing grief over the accident, Prachanda has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs, security personnel, and all agencies of the Government of Nepal to conduct effective rescue operations. 5 Indians were on board the crashed plane

There were 53 Nepalese, 5 Indians, 4 Russians, one Irish, 2 Koreans, 1 Argentinian, and a French citizen on board the aircraft. India’s Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia has described the death of people in the tragic plane crash in Nepal as extremely unfortunate. Scindia said that my condolences and prayers are with the bereaved families. It was told that this aircraft of Yeti Airlines crashed between the old and new airport of Pokhara in central Nepal. Local officials told the media that the wreckage of the crashed plane was on fire and rescue workers were trying to extinguish the fire. All the rescue agencies are focusing on dousing the fire first and rescuing the passengers.
The accident happened due to a technical fault, not due to the weather
The Airport Authority of Nepal claims that the Yeti Airlines plane crashed due to a technical fault and not due to weather. It was told that the pilot had taken landing permission from ATC. OK was also said for landing from Pokhara ATC. The Civil Aviation Authority says that flames were visible in the aircraft just before landing. Therefore, it cannot be said that the accident happened due to bad weather.
All flights canceled from Pokhara airport
All flights from Pokhara International Airport have been canceled after a Yeti Airlines plane crashed in Pokhara on Sunday. Tribhuvan International Airport spokesperson Teknath Sitaula said that all flights from Pokhara Airport have been canceled for today.
While according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the 9N-ANC ATR-72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines took off from Kathmandu at 10:33 am. While landing at Pokhara airport, the plane crashed on the banks of the Seti river between the old airport and the new airport.
