
Pune: Members of the Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM) protested against the state and central government over Maratha reservation at Shivaji Chowk in Solapur on Sunday. Members of the Morcha protested after the Supreme Court stayed the implementation of the decision to provide reservation in jobs and education for the Maratha community. The apex court had on Wednesday stayed the implementation of the Maharashtra Government’s law to provide reservation for the Maratha community in education and employment.

MKM member Ram Jadhav said that the protesters demanded that the state and central government should come together to ensure that the community gets justice. An official of Faujdar Chawadi police station said that the protesters were later detained. Members of Maratha organizations in Kolhapur attempted to stop the vehicles on the highway and warned that as part of their demonstration, they would disrupt the milk supply to Mumbai.
