Hyderabad: In a distressing incident in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Telangana, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Paritosh Pankaj sustained minor injuries when a vehicle from State Minister Sridhar Babu’s convoy struck him from behind. The accident occurred while ASP Pankaj was on bandobust duty during Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Bhadrachalam on Monday.

As the convoy entered the area, ASP Pankaj was orchestrating the closure of barricades when he was unexpectedly hit by the pilot vehicle following Minister Babu’s car. The impact caused him to fall, and the incident was captured in a video that has since gone viral. Eyewitnesses report that Pankaj was promptly rushed to a local hospital for immediate care.

Despite the scare, the officer is reported to be in stable condition after suffering a minor fracture near his left eye, for which he underwent surgery. He is currently recuperating in a Hyderabad hospital. The police department has confirmed that while the injuries were concerning, they were not life-threatening, and ASP Pankaj is expected to make a full recovery.

The ministers were scheduled to meet with Chief Minister Reddy at the market yard. However, the planned meeting was disrupted due to the early arrival of the Chief Minister and the subsequent delay of the ministers’ arrival by road.
