New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon passed away; His son Ashutosh Tandon told about his demise. Director of Medanta Hospital, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor said that, Lalji Tandon breathed his last at 5.35 am in the hospital.
Paying tribute to him, Prime Minister Modi has said that Shri Lalji Tandon will be remembered for his tireless efforts to serve the society. He played a key role in strengthening the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. He made his mark as an effective administrator, always giving importance to public welfare. I am saddened by his demise.
Expressing grief over the death of MP Governor Lalji Tandon, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that on the demise of Shri Lalji Tandon, the country has lost a popular mass leader, a qualified administrator and a powerful social worker. He was the soul of Lucknow and announced a 3-day state mourning on the demise of Lalji Tandon.
A spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh government said that the state government has announced a three-day state mourning. Tandon was admitted to the hospital on 11 June last month due to difficulty in breathing, fever and urination problems. Due to his ill health, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel was given additional charge of Madhya Pradesh.
