New Delhi: The admit card for the IIT JAM 2024 has been made available by the IIT Madras today, January 8, 2024. Candidates who have registered for the IIT JAM 2024 can access their admit card from the official website at jam.iitm.ac.in by following these steps:

  • Go to the IIT JAM 2024 official website at jam.iitm.ac.in.
  • Click on the link for the JAM 2024 admit card on the homepage.
  • Enter your login credentials.
  • Download and print your admit card.

The admit card will contain important information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam date, time, venue, and instructions. Candidates should verify all the details on the admit card and report any discrepancies to the IIT JAM 2024 authorities. Candidates should also keep a printed copy of the admit card and carry it along with a valid photo ID to the exam centre.

The exam

The IIT JAM 2024 is a computer-based test that will be held on February 11 in two sessions. The first session will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second session will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The exam will be conducted at over 100 exam venues throughout India by the IIT Madras.

The IIT JAM 2024 will have seven test papers, namely Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). Each test paper will have 60 questions of three types: multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple-select questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. The total marks for each test paper will be 100 and the duration will be three hours. There will be negative markings for wrong answers in MCQs and MSQs.

The IIT JAM 2024 is a gateway for admission to MSc, MTech, or PhD programmes at premier Indian universities such as IITs, NITs, and ISCs. Candidates who qualify for the IIT JAM 2024 will be eligible to apply for admission to these programmes based on their rank and preference. The results of the IIT JAM 2024 will be announced on March 22 on the official website. The qualified candidates will have to participate in the online admission process, which will be conducted by the IIT JAM 2024 organizing institute, IIT Madras.

The admission

Admission to the MSc, MTech, or PhD programmes at the IITs, NITs, and ISCs will be based on the merit list prepared by the IIT JAM 2024 organizing institute, IIT Madras. The merit list will be prepared for each test paper separately and will indicate the rank and score of the qualified candidates. The candidates will have to fill out an online application form and submit their choice of programmes and institutes. The admission will be done through a seat allotment process, which will consider the rank, preference, and availability of seats.

IIT JAM 2024

The IIT JAM 2024 will offer approximately 3000 seats in various postgraduate programmes at the IITs. The candidates who are allotted seats at the IITs will have to pay an acceptance fee and complete the admission formalities. The candidates who are not allotted seats at the IITs or who wish to pursue their postgraduate programmes at other institutes can apply through the Centralised Counselling for M. SC./M. SC (TECH) (CCMN) programme, which will offer an additional 2000 seats at IISc and NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, and DIAT.

The candidates who are interested in pursuing the IIT JAM 2024 should have completed their undergraduate degree programme or be in the final year of the undergraduate programme. The candidates should also have a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in their qualifying degree. Candidates who are foreign nationals holding degrees from Indian universities are also eligible to apply for the IIT JAM 2024.
