High Alert in North Block

New Delhi: In a chilling escalation, a bomb threat has rattled the heart of the capital after emails targeted schools and hospitals in recent weeks. This time, the target is North Block, a highly sensitive area housing the Ministry of Home Affairs and other crucial government offices.

Security forces immediately swung into action upon receiving the threat at around 3:30 pm on Wednesday. A dog squad and a bomb disposal team, along with personnel from the Delhi Police and Fire Department, are meticulously combing the entire North Block complex.

“We received a call from the Police Control Room (PCR) about a bomb threat in North Block,” confirmed a Delhi Fire Service official. “The call came in at approximately 3:30 pm. The search operation is ongoing, and so far, no suspicious objects have been found.”

The incident has sent shockwaves through the capital, raising concerns about the security of vital government installations. North Block houses several critical ministries, making it a prime target for potential attackers.

This bomb threat follows a string of similar incidents that have plagued Delhi recently. Just a few days ago, schools and hospitals across the city received threatening emails, sparking panic and prompting thorough searches. On May 1st, over 150 schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) were targeted with emailed bomb threats. These threats, much like the ones targeting hospitals later, ultimately turned out to be hoaxes.
