Corona virus-positive rate more than 10% in 66 districts of 17 states

  • The ministry said that daily cases of corona virus are being reported from limited geographical locations.
  • Maharashtra’s daily cases fell to around 6,000 after the peak of the second wave of corona, but rose to 12,800 on July 2. Kerala’s daily cases fell to around 8,000, but then rose to 14,000.
  • NITI Aayog Member (Health) VK. Paul said that at present the rate of decline in corona cases has slowed down. There are many districts in the country where the rate of patients being corona positive is more than 10 percent.
  • There is a danger of a possible third wave as it is seen that the hill stations have suddenly started coming in tourists.
  • Dr. V.K. Paul said that getting more than 40,000 cases of corona virus every day is no small number. “We are taking at least 10,000 cases as the baseline and when we maintain it for at least three weeks, we can say that we have brought the situation under control,” he said.
