New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry, in its official press briefing during the week, reiterated the improvement in the situation of the coronavirus in the country and said that the rate of infection with the corona was recorded at 2.25 percent on Sunday, which shows that the whole of India The Covid-19 situation is continuously improving. However, he said that the improvement in the situation does not mean that the second wave of the epidemic is over as Maharashtra and Kerala still remain the centers of infection and the cases of corona are increasing day by day. On the other hand, the cases of corona are also increasing in the northeastern states.
Here are facts about the current COVID-19 situation as given by the Union Health Ministry.
- About 80 percent of the new cases in India are coming from 90 districts spread across 15 states. These states are: Maharashtra (15 districts), Kerala (14), Tamil Nadu (12) m Odisha (10), Andhra Pradesh (10), Karnataka (10), Assam (6), West Bengal (4), Meghalaya (2 ), Manipur (2), Tripura (1), Goa (1), Mizoram (1), Puducherry (1), Arunachal Pradesh (1).
- The cases of corona virus spreading in the districts prove that the southern and northeastern states are reporting the maximum number of new cases.
- But if we look at the positivity rate of corona testing according to the states, it is found that there are 66 districts in 17 states, where the corona positive rate is more than 10 percent in the week ended July 8 and these states are not only in South are in the North East, but in 10 districts of Rajasthan, the rate of people being corona positive is very high.

- The ministry said that daily cases of corona virus are being reported from limited geographical locations.
- Maharashtra’s daily cases fell to around 6,000 after the peak of the second wave of corona, but rose to 12,800 on July 2. Kerala’s daily cases fell to around 8,000, but then rose to 14,000.
- NITI Aayog Member (Health) VK. Paul said that at present the rate of decline in corona cases has slowed down. There are many districts in the country where the rate of patients being corona positive is more than 10 percent.
- There is a danger of a possible third wave as it is seen that the hill stations have suddenly started coming in tourists.
- Dr. V.K. Paul said that getting more than 40,000 cases of corona virus every day is no small number. “We are taking at least 10,000 cases as the baseline and when we maintain it for at least three weeks, we can say that we have brought the situation under control,” he said.
