Islamabad: Seven more players of Pakistan cricket team were found Corona positive on Tuesday. In this way, 10 players from the team going on tour to England have been found to be Corona positive. Despite this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that England would tour and the team would leave on Sunday according to a predetermined schedule.
Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain and Kashif Bhatti were found to be Corona positive on Tuesday. Earlier, Shadab Khan, Harris Rauf and Hyder Ali were found corona infected on Monday. The team’s masseuse Malang Ali has also been found positive.
Pakistan are scheduled to play three Test matches and three T20 matches in August in England. For this, the 29-member Pakistan team (excluding Shoaib Malik) will leave on Sunday, 29 June.
The PCB had conducted a corona test of 35 people in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar on Monday. The players include Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imam Ul Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shaan Masood, Sohail Khan and Yasir. The Shah was found to be negative. Apart from these, chief coach Misbah-ul-Haq, batting coach Younis Khan, spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed, fielding coach Abdul Majid and other staff members were found to be negative. Shoaib Malik, Cliff Deacon and Waqar Younis are yet to have the Corona Test.
PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said, “Many of the fit players were not showing signs of corona infection, yet they have been found positive.” In view of this, people should follow the guidelines suggested by the government. Pakistan team will leave for England on schedule. Cricketers found to be Corona positive have been asked for home quarantine. He will be flown to England as soon as his tests are negative. He said the good thing is that none of the favorite playing XI players, except Mohammad Rizwan, have been found to be Corona positive.
The Pakistani players will once again have the Corona Test in Lahore on Wednesday. On Thursday, any player who is found corona negative will be flown to England on Sunday from a chartered flight. He will be subjected to a corona test by the ECB within 24 hours of arriving in England. They must then complete the quarantine period. They will be allowed to train in bio-secure conditions during this period.
