New Delhi: According to the big news of the morning, the Modi government has banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) for 5 years today i.e. on Wednesday morning. Earlier there was a preparation to ban this organization till December. Apart from PFI, action has been taken against 8 more organizations. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued a notification to ban these organizations.
Government banned
According to this notification, apart from PFI, Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imam Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Allied organizations like Foundation, Rehab Foundation, are also banned now.
According to a notification issued by the Union Home Ministry on the matter on Tuesday night, the central government believes that the PFI and its allies have been involved in such destructive acts, which have affected public order, weakening the constitutional structure of the country. Terror-based governance is being encouraged and tried to be implemented.
The notification issued said that the organization is making constant efforts to “promote anti-national sentiments and radicalize a particular section of the society” with the intention of creating discontent against the country. In this regard, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in this regard, “For the above reasons, the Central Government is of the firm belief that in view of the activities of PFI, it is necessary to declare it and its affiliates or fronts as an illegal organization with immediate effect.”
When was PFI established?
Let us tell you that earlier, similar raids were conducted on September 22 as part of the operation of various agencies led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on charges of supporting terrorist activities in the country. During that time 106 PFI workers were arrested in 15 states. PFI was established in 2006 in Kerala and it also claims to run a new social movement for the empowerment of marginalized sections in India. But now it and 8 more organizations like it have been banned by the Government of India.
