Islamabad: There is political upheaval in Pakistan amid an economic crisis. Amidst the suicide attack in Peshawar, Pakistan, a new news is now coming out. Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the head of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and a minister in the Imran government, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has strongly condemned this.

If media reports are to be believed, the arrest comes after the Islamabad Capital Police issued a final warning to the former interior minister to appear in connection with a complaint filed against him.

Initial reports said that the former interior minister and a close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan were taken into custody from his residence. A picture posted on Sheikh Rashid’s Twitter account confirmed that the former minister was at the Abpara police station. He has been arrested and taken.

Sheikh Rashid alleged that the police beat him up and took away all his belongings from his house. In a video posted on his Twitter account, he is seen saying, ‘Picked me up from my house which comes in Punjab. Killed all my employees. Picked up all the stuff. These are thieves and daks. He said that he is out on bail till the 6th.
