Bhopal: Due to the coronal period, the facility given to the elderly, disabled, corona infected and suspicious voters to cast their votes through postal ballot from home is likely to delay the results. The commission had issued 34,546 postal ballots.
Of these, 27,301 have voted. Whereas, the calculation of each cycle will be considered complete only when all the candidates are satisfied. After this the next cycle will be calculated. The votes recorded in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be counted from the slips of five voting verifiable paper audit trail (VVPET) of each assembly constituency. This will make it clear that the votes recorded in the EVM are correct.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Arun Kumar Tomar said that there would be separate staff for counting of postal ballot papers. The counting of EVMs and postal ballots will continue simultaneously. The second cycle in EVM will start only when all the candidates are satisfied with the calculation. A verified copy of the calculation will be given after each cycle. Five VVIPs from each assembly will be taken and their slip and the votes recorded in the EVM of the concerned polling station will be matched.
EVMs in which the recorded votes will not be visible will be kept separate. If the difference between win-lose votes is less than the votes recorded in the segregated machines then they will not be counted but if the difference remains less then with the permission of the commission their votes will also be counted.
Videography will be to remove the EVM from the Strong Room
The EVM will be removed from the Strong Room half an hour before the counting begins in the presence of the candidates or their authorized agents. Videography of this entire process will also be done.
Employees will find out in the morning which table is on duty
The counting staff will know at six o’clock in the morning on which table their duty is. For this, a lottery will be drawn through computer at five in the morning.
