In his address at the beginning of the UNGA session, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutarares said that this year will be the most difficult in the history of the United Nations as countries have to take steps regarding the immediate impact of the Kovid-19 epidemic, strengthening health systems And support the development and common development of vaccines and treatment. He said that we are unaware of the impact of the epidemic, its social and economic impact and other global challenges and trends and our only hope is that we unite to react to it and support the most sensitive people.
UNGA President Volkan Bojkir underlined the importance of personal attendance meetings and reiterated his intention to hold more such meetings. A high-level meeting of the General Assembly is expected on 21 September to mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
