Ottawa: For the first time in the 31-year history of the Canadian Space Agency, a woman will command it. The government announced this on Thursday.

It said that Lisa Campbell, who had been working in public service for a long time, would be the president of the agency. She will replace Sylvain Larpotte, who had been the head of the agency since 2015. This information was given in a release quoted by Navdeep Bains, Federal Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry. The Canadian Space Agency was established in March 1989.
