New Delhi: The government of Pakistan, which is facing the problem of economic crisis and terrible floods, has considered starting trade with India. At the same time, India has clearly said that unless Islamabad stops cross-border terrorism, trade between the two countries is not possible. At the same time, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has given a statement on this issue. Bilawal Bhutto said that no decision has been taken on starting trade from India, our focus is on relief work. A leading trade body in Pakistan on Tuesday urged the government to allow the resumption of import of vegetables from India via the Wagah border to check the rising prices of vegetables in the country due to devastating floods.

Let us tell you that Pakistan limited its trade relations with India in August 2019 after India’s decision to abrogate Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s Finance Minister Miftah Ismail recently said that his government may consider importing vegetables and other food items from India. This reaction has come soon after this statement quoting top government sources. According to Government sources, “We have reports of about 50 foreign terrorists coming to India from Pakistan. Many terrorists are sitting near the border. We are open for trade talks, but before that Pakistan needs to act quickly and stop terrorism.”

In June this year, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari spoke in favor of trade and engagement with other countries, especially India. However, later Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued a clarification saying that there has been no change in Pakistan’s policy towards India.
