General Musharraf-Imran khan

Islamabad: Imran Khan has lost the post of Prime Minister in the political turmoil of Pakistan and now he is trying to garner the sympathy of the people in the elections. He saved his honor by getting the no-confidence motion rejected, but the same bet could be heavy on him. Political experts believe that the opposition has united and if Imran does not get power in this election, then he will definitely be punished. The National Assembly of Pakistan has been dissolved, due to which general elections are to be held in the country within 90 days. If the opposition wins the election, then Imran Khan may face a case of sedition.

Opposition leaders have called Imran a traitor on many fronts. Imran’s condition can also be like that of General Pervez Musharraf. At one time, the Nawaz Sharif government had registered a case of treason against Musharraf and got the death sentence awarded by the court. Although Musharraf is still in Dubai away from Pakistan. There is a lot of speculation and rumors going on in Pakistan.

Political experts say that the result of the election will clear the picture. If Imran Khan’s party fails to get a majority, then the opposition will definitely take revenge on him. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s brother and now Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif has said that Imran Khan has acted against the Constitution by getting the no-confidence motion rejected. Significantly, Imran Khan had rejected the no-confidence motion in the Pakistan National Assembly and after that he met President Arif Alvi and cited a foreign conspiracy in the country. The President had also declared general elections in the country by dissolving the National Assembly.

General Musharraf-Imran khan

Don’t be like Pervez Musharraf
Political experts have expressed apprehension that Imran Khan’s condition may be similar to Musharraf’s. In 1999, the then Chief of the Pakistan Army Pervez Musharraf overthrew the Nawaz Sharif government. First Nawaz Sharif was placed under house arrest and then put in jail. Musharraf became the President of Pakistan and remained in office till August 2008. The opposition had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to stop Musharraf from contesting the presidential election. Then Musharraf had imposed an emergency in the country. After some time he had to hold elections, then PPP came to power, and then Musharraf left his post. After this, when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) came to power in 2013 and Nawaz Sharif became the Prime Minister, he filed a case of treason against Musharraf. Musharraf went to Dubai for treatment and did not return again, meanwhile the trial went on and he was sentenced to death, which he challenged in the Supreme Court.
