Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow and orange alert regarding the forecast of heavy rains in the eastern part of the country. IMD Scientist RK Jenamani told news agency ANI that due to the increasing effect of western disturbances, there will be heavy rains in central India and eastern parts, especially in Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengal, and Bihar. In this regard, a warning has been issued for heavy rains at these places between January 11 and 13. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, due to western disturbances, the eastern part of the country is likely to be affected from January 11.
IMD scientists said that an Orange alert has already been issued for Odisha on 11th and 12th January. On January 11, there is a possibility of hailstorms in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. He said that the coastal areas of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will also see thunderstorms. Apart from this, a warning of the cold wave has been given in North India. While dense fog will be seen in Rajasthan and Haryana.
Regarding the continuing rain in the northern region of the country, the Meteorological Department has said that the continuing rain in the western Himalayan region and adjoining plains, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab will reduce from today. There was some relief from the rain here on Saturday but there is no relief from the rain in Punjab.
The Indian Meteorological Department said that the capital Delhi is expected to get relief from the rain from tonight and there is no possibility of rain in Delhi till January 16 and 17. IMD Scientist RK Jenamani said that the cold wave will start in the northern parts of the country from January 11. Due to western disturbances, there will be a sharp drop in temperature in the eastern parts of the country. Therefore, the mercury can drop to 4 to 6 degrees in North India including Delhi.
