New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the interview dates for the candidates who have qualified for the Civil Services Main Examination 2023. The personality test or interview is the final stage of the selection process for the prestigious civil services of India. The candidates can check and download the interview schedule from the official website of the UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
Interview to start from January 2, 2024
According to an official notice issued by the UPSC, the personality test or interview will start on January 2, 2024, and will continue till January 16, 2024. The notice states, “Based on the results of the Civil Services Main Examination, 2023 declared by the Union Public Service Commission on 8th Dec 2023, the Commission has decided to commence the Personality Tests (Interviews) of the Civil Services Main Examination, 2023 w.e.f. Tuesday, 02.01.2024.”
The candidates who have cleared the main exam will have to appear for the interview round, which will test their suitability for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Services (Groups ‘A’ and ‘B’). The interview will carry 275 marks, out of the total 2025 marks of the exam.
UPSC releases interview schedule for 1,026 candidates
The UPSC has released the interview schedule for 1,026 candidates, who have been shortlisted for the personality test. The schedule mentions the roll number, date, and session of the interview for each candidate. The candidates can access the schedule by following these steps:
- Go to the official website of UPSC at https://upsc.gov.in/
- On the homepage, go to the ‘What’s New’ section.
- Click on the link that reads – ‘Interview Schedule: Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2023’.
- The UPSC Personality Test Schedule will appear in PDF format.
- Check all the details and download it.
The UPSC will upload the interview schedule for the remaining candidates later. The candidates will also receive the e-summon letter or admit card for the interview on the official website soon. The candidates are advised to keep checking the website for updates.
Interview venue and timings
The personality test or interview will be conducted at the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The interview will be held in two sessions: morning and afternoon. The candidates who have to report at 9 am will have their interview in the morning session, while those who have to report at 1 pm will have their interview in the afternoon session.
The candidates who have to travel to New Delhi for the interview will be eligible for reimbursement of their travel expenses, as per the rules of the UPSC. The candidates will have to bring their e-summon letter or admit card, along with their original documents and photocopies, to the interview. The candidates will also have to follow the Covid-19 guidelines and protocols issued by the UPSC.
