Islamabad: Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the minister of the Pakistan government, who is often in the news after making odd statements, has once again given a controversial statement. Regarding the release of tear gas on the employees who are protesting for salary hike in the country, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that tear gas shells were kept for a long time, so testing was necessary. During an event in Rawalpindi, Ahmed said that the Islamabad police fired some tear gas shells and this was necessary as the tear gas had been lying for a long time and was not used. He also claimed that only a small amount of tear gas was used.
Rashid further said, ‘The real problem is not to tear tear gas shells but to increase salary, which will increase the burden of billions of rupees on the government exchequer during this inflationary period.’ Let us know that on 10 February, Pakistani police fired tear gas shells on the protesting government employees demanding an increase in salary and pension.
However, this statement of the Pakistani minister is being criticized a lot in his own country and people are asking him to apologize. According to ‘Sama TV’, at least two thousand protesters were heading towards the Parliament House when the police released tear gas shells on them.
