New Delhi: The price of petrol and diesel in the country increased for the 13th consecutive day. On Friday, petrol in Delhi crossed Rs 78 per liter and the price of diesel crossed Rs 77 per liter.
Petrol and diesel prices in the country have been increasing continuously since June 7. In these 13 days, petrol has become costlier by Rs 7.11 i.e. 9.98 percent and diesel by Rs 7.67 i.e. 11.05 percent.
According to the Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in Delhi increased by 56 paise to Rs 78.37 per liter on Friday, which is the highest level since 7 November 2018. At the same time, with the increase in the price of diesel by 63 paise, it crossed Rs 77 for the first time to Rs 77.06 per liter.
Petrol price increased by 54 paise to Rs 80.13 in Kolkata, 55 paise to Rs 85.21 in Mumbai and 50 paise in Chennai to Rs 81.82 per liter. Diesel became expensive by 75 paise in Kolkata at Rs 72.53, 60 paise in Mumbai by Rs 75.53 and in Chennai by 54 paise by Rs 74.77 per liter.
