Shubman Gill missed out on breaking Virat Kohli’s record during this period. Kohli holds the record for scoring the most 973 runs in a season of IPL, which he made in the year 2016 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, in terms of scoring the most runs in a season, Gill has reached the second place after Kohli. Shubman Gill has become the youngest player to win the Orange Cap in IPL. He achieved this feat at the age of 23 years 263 days. Gill has broken the record of Rituraj Gaikwad, who captured the Orange Cap in 2011 at the age of 24 years 257 days.
