It is expected that the entire amount will be paid under the agreement before any order is passed against the PIA by the court. Counsel for the Dublin-based Aircap told the court, “The plaintiff’s position is that the money has been paid today by the defendant (PIA).”

According to the news, the court was told that the PIA had not paid the amount since July and that it had to pay a sum of five lakh and eighty thousand US dollars to the airlines every month. Failure to do so was filed. The PIA stated in its plea that the aviation industry has been severely impacted by the Kovid-19 pandemic and hence the amount should be reduced.
