After this decision, it is being told that the imposition of such high fees will increase the chances of the police forcing the victim’s families to pay the fees for post mortem, DNA test, and medical test in case of rape victims.
The report states that, under the proposed scheme, a fee of Rs 1,500 has also been fixed per 24 hours to keep the bodies in cold storage and DNA tests may cost up to Rs 18,000. 2 thousand for urine test, 4 thousand for poison test and Rs 20 thousand for paternity test.
