New Delhi: A billionaire businessman of Pakistani origin and his son who went to see the wreckage of the Titanic ship in the North Atlantic have also gone missing. His family gave information on Tuesday. A 21-foot (6.5-meter) tourist submersible operated by Oceangate Expeditions began taking tourists out to sea on Sunday, but lost contact after two hours, officials said.
It is known that oxygen is present on this submarine only for about 70 hours, but now with the passage of time, the supply of oxygen is about to end, due to which the lives of all these people are in great danger.
Dawood is the chairman of the Anglo Group.
His family told that Prince Dawood is the vice-chairman of the Anglo Group. The Engro firm invests in energy, agriculture, petrochemicals, and telecommunications. The firm had a revenue of 350 billion rupees ($1.2 billion) at the end of 2022. The relatives told that their son Suleman is also aboard the submarine.
At the same time, the father of the billionaire prince is also considered the richest person in Pakistan. Giving information about the new update, he said that contact with the submersible craft has not been established yet and he does not have much information.
Shahzada’s profile on the company’s website states that he serves as a trustee of The Dawood Foundation. Pakistan’s high-profile family education charity was established in 1960.
A joint rescue effort is underway by several government agencies and deep-sea expedition companies to re-establish contact with the submersible craft and bring back the occupants safely. At present, the Navy of America and Canada is engaged in the search for the submarine. Coastguards of various countries are scanning the areas where the Titanic is submerged in the North Atlantic.
