Following the alliance partners’ meeting, Omar Abdullah is scheduled to meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to formally stake his claim to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah’s Political Legacy

Omar Abdullah, who previously served as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 2009 to 2015, has a rich political history. National Conference’s Resounding Victory

The recent assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, held across three phases, concluded with the National Conference emerging victorious in 42 out of the 51 seats it contested. The Congress, which contested 32 seats, managed to secure only 6, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 29 out of the 61 seats it contested, making it the second-largest party in the assembly.
