The road was closed due to a landslide nearly six miles on Mandi-Pandoh NH. The water level of Veas River has reached a record level in Kullu’s Akhara Bazar. Beas is also flowing above the danger mark in Kullu and Mandi cities. Baddi, the industrial area of the state, has also been submerged. In many places, there is no electricity since last night and the roads are closed. The plain areas have become waterlogged, while the situation remains worrying due to the landslide in the mountains.

3 dead, 2 missing in Chamba and Kullu
The Manali-Leh road has been closed after floods in Lahaul’s Junda Nala and Teling Nala. The Rohtang road is also closed after a landslide at Rahaninala in Kullu. The motor rail car going from Shimla to Kalka on the heritage railway track derailed near Koti. Fortunately, no one was hurt by this. There were 14 passengers in the train car. Even today the movement of trains on the Kalka-Shimla railway line is closed. A massive landslide occurred on the road connecting Shimla’s Dhingu temple. At some distance from Una railway station, a tree fell on the power line of the railway track and caught fire. One person died after being hit by a landslide in Chamba’s Sarotha Nala. On reaching the hospital, the doctor declared the person dead. The administration has given immediate relief of 10 thousand to the relatives of the deceased. This accident happened late at night. One devotee has died during the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra, while two others are missing. All of them had slipped from the glacier. A house has collapsed in Lanka Baker of Kullu and the woman has died.

In Pandoh Bazar, 6 people were trapped in their houses due to floods, which were rescued by the local police and SDRF team and taken out safely. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for July 9 in Himachal.
