Raipur: Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company (CSPDCL) has reached the first position in the country in terms of best power generation. The Central Government Undertaking, Central Electricity Authority, New Delhi has given CSPDCL the first ranking in the first quarter for better performance in 33 state sectors of different states. The generation company has a capacity of 2840 MW, with a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 85.71 percent, and has achieved this position. PLF means what percentage of the capacity has been generated.

For the first time, Chhattisgarh has made this record of producing electricity with maximum capacity in the country. The Central Electricity Authority releases this ranking every three months. The average PLF in 33 state sectors across the country is 66.97 percent, while plants in Chhattisgarh generated 85.71 percent of power. The average PLF of all thermal power plants across the country stood at 70.02 percent. The plants in Chhattisgarh produced more than all the plants. For this achievement, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Energy and Finance Department Secretary Ankit Anand have congratulated and congratulated all the officers and employees.

Continued uninterrupted power supply
Sanjeev Kumar Katiyar, managing director of the distribution company, said that this ranking has been achieved on the basis of the production of the first quarter April-May-June. During this, there was a severe heat condition in the state. There was a huge demand for electricity in all the states. On April 18, the demand for electricity in Chhattisgarh reached 5878 MW. In such a situation, the plants of the Generation Company continued to work without interruption and continued uninterrupted power supply in the state without power cuts. He said that all the plants of the distribution company have performed well despite all the challenges.

Record of continuous power generation for 162 days
Hasdeo Thermal Power Plant Korba West, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Plant (DSPM) Korba East, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Thermal Power Plant Madwa produced better this year. Unit number four of Hasdeo Thermal Power Plant Korba West, established in 1984, created a record of non-stop power generation for 162 days and 12 hours. Earlier this unit produced continuous power for a maximum of 111 days and nine hours only.
