NEET UG 2024

New Delhi: In a series of unsettling events, the NEET UG 2024 examination has been marred by allegations of paper leaks and irregularities, raising questions about the integrity of one of India’s most crucial entrance tests. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been thrust into the spotlight as it navigates through the turmoil to uphold the examination’s fairness.

Patna Police Probe Alleged NEET Paper Leak

The Patna Police have launched an investigation following claims of a NEET UG paper leak in Bihar’s capital. An FIR has been registered, and several individuals, including NEET aspirants, have been detained for questioning. The police are conducting extensive raids across Patna, with efforts intensifying after a late-night operation.

Exam Center Confusion: Wrong Papers Lead to Uproar

At the Adarsh Vidya Mandir examination center in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, a mix-up in the distribution of question papers led to chaos. Hindi medium candidates received English medium papers and vice versa, prompting protests from candidates and parents alike. The situation escalated when candidates, allegedly mistreated upon raising objections, exited the examination hall with their papers, fueling concerns of a potential leak.

NTA’s Response to the Crisis

The NTA has acknowledged the error at the Sawai Madhopur center and confirmed that incorrect question papers were distributed. In a bid to maintain the exam’s integrity, the agency conducted a re-examination for approximately 120 affected students. The NTA has emphasized that this was an isolated incident and assured that the overall examination process remains uncompromised.

Violence and Vigilance: A Stabbing Incident and Exam Retakes

In a shocking incident in Sikar, Rajasthan, a candidate reportedly stabbed another outside the examination center before proceeding to take the exam himself. Meanwhile, the NTA has taken decisive action in Sawai Madhopur, re-administering the NEET UG exam to ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity.

NEET UG 2024

As the NTA and law enforcement agencies work to resolve these issues, the events surrounding NEET UG 2024 have underscored the need for stringent security measures and transparent processes to safeguard the future of aspiring medical students across the nation.
