NEET UG 2024 Answer Key Released

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer key for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024. Aspiring medical students who appeared for the NEET exam on May 5, 2024, can now verify their answers using the answer key. Here are the key points:

1. Answer Key Availability:

  • Candidates can download the NEET UG Answer Key from the official NTA NEET website at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET or directly from neet.ntaonline.in.
  • In addition to the answer key, the NTA provides scanned images of OMR sheets, displaying the questions and answers from the offline exam.

2. Objection Process:

  • If candidates have any objections to the answers in the NEET answer key, they can raise their concerns.
  • The objection window is open until 11:50 PM on May 31, 2024.
  • Objections can be registered exclusively through online mode by visiting neet.ntaonline.in.
  • An expert panel will meticulously analyze the objections, and based on their assessment, the final answer key will be released.

3. NEET Result:

  • The NEET result will be determined based on the final answer key.
  • NEET serves as the sole gateway for admission to various medical colleges across India, offering courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and other undergraduate medical programs.
  • Additionally, candidates aspiring to join the Military Nursing Service (MNS) can secure admission in the B.Sc Nursing course at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals based on their NEET UG exam scores.

4. Tie-Breaking Policy:

  • In cases where two or more students obtain the same marks, the tie-breaking policy comes into play.
  • The following criteria are considered in sequence to determine the rank:
    1. Biology Marks: The candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany and Zoology) is placed higher in the merit list.
    2. Chemistry Marks: If Biology marks do not resolve the tie, Chemistry marks are compared.
    3. Physics Marks: If needed, Physics marks are considered.
    4. Fewer Wrong Answers: The candidate with fewer wrong answers than correct ones is given preference.
    5. Attempted Wrong Answers Ratio (Biology): A lower ratio of attempted wrong answers to correct answers in Biology favors the candidate.
    6. Attempted Wrong Answers Ratio (Chemistry): Similarly, a lower ratio in Chemistry contributes to a higher rank.
    7. Percentage of Attempted Wrong Answers (Physics): Finally, the candidate with a lower percentage of attempted wrong answers in Physics secures a better rank.
