Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has told the concerned authorities that he would like Pakistan Muslim League chief Nawaz Sharif to be in Pakistan. Take steps to bring it back and ensure that they face corruption cases going on in various courts of the country.
Sharif has been in London since November 2019 for medical reasons. Keeping the identity confidential, the Dawn News newspaper quoted a cabinet member as saying that the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday. According to the news, Imran Khan asked the authorities to take swift action in the case.

According to the cabinet member, the Pakistan government has requested the UK government to send PML-N leader Sharif back. However, now she will send a fresh application again. He said that along with the general application, a formal request for his extradition would also be made.
“Pakistan does not have an extradition treaty with Britain, but the wanted people can be brought back under special arrangements, like we had previously assigned some people to Britain.” It is noteworthy that despite the warning of Islamabad High Court, on September 15, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him after Sharif did not surrender.
The court had said that it is the responsibility of the federal government to bring Sharif back from London and present it before the court. The PML-N said it respected the court’s decision, but the party chief would return only if his health allowed it.
Significantly, three-time Prime Minister Sharif, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law Muhammad Safdar were convicted on July 6, 2018 in the Avefield property case. In December 2018, Sharif was also sentenced to seven years imprisonment in the Al Azizia Steel Mills case. Sharif was granted bail in both the cases and was allowed to go to London for treatment.
