NK News, a news website that monitors the events of North Korea, said that in its advisory, the dictatorial government of North Korea has asked people to stay in homes till Sunday and check the temperature several times a day every day and keep a record of it. It is being told that this decision has been taken in view of the increasing number of patients suffering from respiratory problems.

According to a government notice, North Korean authorities have issued a five-day lockdown order for residents of Pyongyang due to rising cases of respiratory illness. The lockdown is starting from today i.e. Wednesday. Soon after this order was issued, people rushed to the markets and were seen stocking essential commodities. It has been said in the notice that people will have to strictly follow the lockdown.

It was told in media reports that Pyongyang residents were seen stocking goods after receiving advance warning of the lockdown. It has been said in the new notice that common cold is included in the diseases currently spreading in the capital, but Corona has not been mentioned in it. It has been said in the notice that the residents will have to stay in their homes till Sunday and check the temperature several times a day. However, it is not clear whether other cities are also being placed under lockdown and state media have yet to announce the new measures.
