Ludhiana: In a bid to make government services more accessible and convenient for the people of Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a new scheme, ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’, which will be launched on December 10 by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

According to Malwinder Singh Kang, chief spokesperson of AAP’s Punjab unit, the scheme will enable people to avail of 43 different services at their doorsteps, without having to visit any government office or deal with any middleman. These services include various certificates, such as birth, marriage, death, income, residence, caste, rural area, border area, backward area, pension, etc., as well as electricity bill payment and land demarcation. The only exceptions are arms licenses, Aadhaar cards,s, and stamp paper, which will not be covered by the scheme.

Kang said that people can easily book their appointments by calling the helpline number ‘1076’ and specifying their service request. They will then receive an SMS confirmation with the details of the required documents, fees, and the scheduled time and date of the visit. Specially trained staff will arrive at the people’s homes or offices with tablets and scanners and complete the necessary paperwork, collect fees, and provide receipts. People will also be able to track their applications online and receive soft copies of their certificates on their mobile phones. Hard copies of the documents will be delivered to their homes within a few days.

Kang said that the scheme will benefit the common people of Punjab, who often face difficulties and harassment in accessing government services. He said that the scheme would save people’s time, money, and energy, as they would not have to stand in long queues, travel long distances, or pay bribes to middlemen. He said that the scheme will also improve the efficiency and transparency of the government and reduce corruption.
