New Delhi: The committee constituted to investigate the matter of violence in the Capitol (Parliament House complex) on January 6 in America has released its final report today. At the same time, it has been clearly stated in this report that this entire scandal was a conspiracy by the then President (now former President) Donald Trump to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

It may be noted that the House Committee probing the riots at the US Capitol complex has given its final public presentation regarding Donald Trump’s unprecedented attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. The committee has called it an attempted coup and this is the final argument of the committee with the completion of one and a half year-long investigation and preparation to issue a detailed final report on the capital riots on January 6, 2021. Former President Donald Trump has been considered guilty.

There were also speculations that the committee would announce at least three criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, including sedition, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to defraud the federal government.

A group of Trump supporters entered the US Capitol to protest the certification of 2020 presidential election results from several US states, which Trump claimed were fraudulent. According to a CNN report, US authorities arrested more than 725 individuals for criminal offenses related to the riots in nearly all 50 states.

Earlier, last October, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon was jailed for four months for contempt of Congress after he defied a subpoena from the January 6 Committee-2021 Attack on the Capitol on Friday (local time). The sentence was carried out and he was also fined US$6,500.
