It is notable that the opposition has attacked the Modi government at the Center regarding the inauguration of the new Parliament House. The opposition says that President Draupadi Murmu should inaugurate this building. Opposition parties are alleging that by not doing so, the government is attacking democracy.

Around 20 opposition parties boycotted the opening ceremony of Parliament House
Congress, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party, MK Stalin’s DMK, Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Communist Party of India, Indian Union Muslim League, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, National Conference, Around 20 opposition parties, including the Kerala Congress (Mani), the Revolutionary Socialist Party, the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) and the Rashtriya Lok Dal, announced a boycott of the opening ceremony of the Parliament House. Opposition parties had demanded that President Draupadi Murmu should inaugurate the new Parliament House and not Prime Minister Modi.
