Indore: Shubman Gill, the young Indian batsman, has been in sensational form this year. He has smashed many new records and milestones in his ODI career. In the second ODI against Australia at Indore, he scored a magnificent century and achieved another remarkable feat. He left behind some of the greatest batsmen of all time, such as Sachin Tendulkar, Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli, and Babar Azam.

Shubman Gill played a splendid knock of 104 runs off 97 balls against Australia in the second ODI. It was his maiden century against the Aussies. He hit 6 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. This was his sixth hundred in ODI cricket.

Fastest to 1900 runs in ODIs
With this century, Shubman Gill became the fastest batsman to reach 1900 runs in ODIs. He achieved this milestone in just 35 innings. He broke the record of Hashim Amla, who had reached 1900 runs in 37 innings. He also surpassed other prolific run-scorers like Babar Azam, Rassie van der Dussen, Fakhar Zaman, Virat Kohli, and Sachin Tendulkar.

Fifth century of the year
This was Shubman Gill’s fifth century of the year. He joined an elite club of batsmen who have scored five or more centuries in a calendar year in ODIs. The other members of this club are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Shikhar Dhawan. Kohli has done this feat four times so far, while Rohit has done it three times and Sachin has done it twice.
