MG Motor June 2023 sales up by 14%, ‘MG Hector’ best-selling SUV

New Delhi: MG Motor registered excellent sales last month. In the month of June, the company’s retail sales in India increased by 14% with sales of 5,125 units of vehicles. In June 2022, the company sold 4,504 units. MG said that due to the Biparjoy cyclone in Gujarat, the supply chain of the company was affected, which affected the sales.

The company said that it has sold 14,682 units of vehicles in the first three months of the current financial year. In the same period last year, the company had registered sales of only 10,519 units. Vehicle sales increased by 40 percent in the quarter. MG Motor is selling Hector, Hector Plus, Aster, Gloster, ZS EV, and Comet EV in the Indian market.

This car became a game changer
MG Hector and Hector Plus are the best-selling SUVs of the company. After launching their new models at Auto Expo 2023, the company’s sales are increasing steadily. MG Hector was the first model of the company which was launched by the company in the Indian market. Since then it has remained the best-selling SUV of the company.

Coming to the Hector, it gets both petrol and diesel engine options. It gets a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (143PS/250Nm) and a 2-litre diesel (170PS/350Nm) engine. Both the engines get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an 8-speed CVT option has been offered with the petrol engine.

No competition for features
Talking about the features, the Hector includes a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and multi-color ambient lighting. The list includes ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an automated driver seat. In terms of passenger safety, it gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and auto emergency braking.

The price of MG Hector ranges between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 22.12 lakh (ex-showroom pan India). It is made available in five wide variants which include Style, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and the new range-topping Savvy Pro.
