New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio in India by launching the Mercedes-Benz EQE, a luxury electric SUV that promises a long range and a host of features. The EQE is priced at Rs 1.39 cr (ex-showroom) and is available in a single variant called EQE 500 4MATIC. The company claims that the EQE can travel up to 550km on a single charge, making it one of the most efficient electric SUVs in the country.

The EQE is based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class platform and adopts the latest EQ design language that is seen in other electric models from the German brand. The EQE has a sleek and aerodynamic silhouette, with a connected LED light strip at the front that integrates with the large black grille that features a star-like pattern and the Mercedes logo. The EQE also has flush-fitting door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels that enhance its futuristic appeal. The rear of the EQE has a connected LED tail lamp setup that gives it a modern look.

The interior of the EQE is dominated by a 56-inch MBUX hyperscreen that spans across the dashboard and consists of three displays: a digital driver display, a center infotainment display, and a front passenger display. The hyperscreen offers various functions and features, such as navigation, media, climate control, phone, vehicle settings, and more. The EQE also comes with other features, such as four-zone climate control, powered seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, and an air purifier. The EQE also offers a high level of safety and convenience, with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, and driver assistance features, such as lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and parking assist.

The EQE is powered by a 90.56kWh battery pack that feeds an electric motor on each axle, giving it an all-wheel drive system. The electric motors produce a combined output of 408 bhp and 858 Nm of torque, enabling the EQE to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The top speed of the EQE is limited to 210 km/h. The EQE supports two types of charging options: 11 kW AC charging and 170 kW DC fast charging. With AC charging, the EQE can be fully charged in about eight hours, while with DC fast charging, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
