New Delhi: Team India has also won the ODI series after Tests and T20s. Team India defeated England by 7 runs in a thrilling match in the third ODI. With this, the team captured the series 2–1. Team India has beaten England in the sixth consecutive ODI series at home. Prior to this, Team India won the Test series 3–1 and the T20 series 3–2. That is, Team India won the hat-trick series.
The English team started off chasing the target of 330 runs. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar dismissed Jason Roy (14) on the last ball of the first over of the English innings. After this, Bhuvneshwar made the team a big success by dismissing Johnny Bairstow (1). Bairstow scored a stunning 124 in the second ODI. England were to score 14 runs in the final over to win, but the English team could manage only 6 runs. The team scored 322 runs for 9 wickets after 50 overs. Fast bowler Shardul Thakur took the maximum 4 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also got 3 wickets.
Rishabh Pant opened the biggest innings of his career
Prior to this, Rishabh Pant scored 78 and Hardik Pandya scored 64 runs and brought Team India’s score beyond 300. This is the biggest innings of Pant’s ODI career. Shikhar Dhawan also scored 67 runs. Krunal Pandya scored 25 and Shardul Thakur scored 30 runs. The entire team was reduced to 329 runs in 48.2 overs. Fast bowler Mark Wood took three and leg-spinner Adil Rashid took two wickets. England tried 7 bowlers and all took at least one wicket.
