Shrinagar: An Army helicopter carrying an ailing Border Security Force (BSF) personnel crashed in an area along the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Gurez sector on Friday, killing the co-pilot and the pilot seriously. seriously injured. The co-pilot who lost his life has been identified as Major Sankalp Yadav (29), while the injured pilot, a lieutenant colonel-rank officer, was rescued from the crash site and taken to the Command Hospital in Udhampur. BSF Inspector General (Kashmir Frontier) Raja Babu Singh said, “I salute the dedication and bravery of the pilot who undertook such a difficult evacuation operation.” Officials said the Army launched a rescue operation soon after the Cheetah crashed and deployed an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and troops for the operation.
