Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati raised questions on the muhurat of Bhumi Pujan and Shilanyas of Ram temple. According to him, the time fixed is inauspicious. He told that on August 5, the second date of Dakshinayan Bhadrapaksha Krishna Paksha is falling. He cited the Vishnu Dharma Shastra and the Naivagna Ballabh Granth that it is prohibited in our scriptures to establish or start a house and temple in Bhadrapaksha month.

On the controversy arising on the Muhurta, Ramnarayan Dwivedi said that this land is worshiped by Lord Rama’s temple and the foundation stone will be laid by the king of the country. When was the date of temple construction decided
The date of Bhoomi Poojan of the temple was fixed at a meeting of members of Ram Mandir Trust in Ayodhya on 18 July. The trust was first proposed on August 3 and 5. The Prime Minister’s Office approved the date of 5 August.
